Rye flour has a delicious earthy flavour, milled from whole rye grass. While it is still finely ground, this type of flour has more body, is slightly heavier than traditional flours. Together blended with our white flour, our Light Rye sourdough gives it a delicious distinctive flavour. Using our signature sourdough culture, this Light Rye is a must in trying a bread with improved nutritional content.
Rye (Secale cereale) is a grass grown extensively as a grain, a cover crop and a forage crop. It is a member of the wheat tribe (Triticeae) and is closely related to barley (genus Hordeum) and wheat (Triticum).
